Xiaomi Mi 3 will be making a one-day comeback
on January 26. The company's India specific Facebook page has made the
announcement.
The page says, "Good news! Mi 3* will be available this
coming Republic Day and it will be a one-day only event." Along with
this offer, the company is currently conducting an open sale of its RedMi Note
4G which will remain available throughout the weekend extending till the
Republic Day on Monday.
Mi3 was the first Xiaomi phone sold in India
which sold like hot cakes. The phone was sold through flash sales which lasted
only for a few seconds. The sales model proved successful for Xiaomi but
developed a bad taste for the consumers who could not acquire the phone.
The company in their last sale tried to
make up to the consumers who were unsuccessful in acquiring the smartphone by
adding the device to their Flipkart carts. Months after the device had stopped
selling in India, it will be available again for one single day.
Customers interested in purchasing the
device will have to go through a few steps specified on the Facebook page of Mi
India. The buyer will first have to like the Mi India Facebook announcement
post and share it with at least 3 friends, and then visit the dedicated
promotion page on the company's India site at 12pm IST on Monday, and then
enter the email address associated with their Flipkart account to register. The
user will just get 2 hours to register. If you are successful in registering
your Flipkart email id, the device will be placed in your cart at 5pm on the
same day.
The company is also supposed to launch
its next generation flagship Mi4 on the 28th of January, but with the current
sales happening just days before there can be a probable delay in the sales of
the Mi4.
The Mi3 comes with a 5-inch full-HD LCD
display (1080x1920 pixels) offering a pixel density of 441ppi; a 2.3GHz
quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 (MSM8274AB) processor; 2GB of RAM; Adreno 330
GPU; 16GB of inbuilt storage; a 13-megapixel rear camera; a 2-megapixel front
camera, and a 3050mAh battery. The phone is likely to sell at the same price of
Rs13,999.
